STAFF

Our Team

Our team is what makes Cornerstone Veterinary Hospital a great place to be! Every person on our team matters, and that shows in the way we work together and in the care and service we provide to our patients and their owners.

Dr. Jane Mayo

Veterinarian-Owner
Cornerstone Veterinary Hospital

Dr. Mayo is a proud graduate of the University of Florida’s College of Veterinary Medicine Class of 1995. Go Gators! After graduating in 1995 with Honors, she practiced small animal medicine for 3 years in Englewood then moved to St Petersburg where she has been practicing medicine since 1998.

Dr Mayo is a lover of all things Labrador Retriever, having adopted her first one during her freshman year of veterinary school. Cornerstone Veterinary Hospital is named after her most cherished big, black Lab named Coal, aka Cornerstone’s Coal Miner. Jesus Christ is the Cornerstone of her faith and trust in God and Coal Miner is a shout-out to Dr. Mayo’s birthplace, West Virginia. Coal was everything Dr. Mayo strives to be…. smart, gentle, and kind!

In her free time, Dr. Mayo enjoys hanging out at home with her St Petersburg-native husband and daughter, and her Labradors, cats, chickens and tortoises. She also loves to read, garden and try to convince her orchids to bloom.
